Optional Work

Here is a quick question for my readers to ponder:

Imagine that you had enough money in the bank so that if you wanted to you’d never have to work another day in your life. What would you do? Would you continue the path you are on? Would you retire and move to Tahiti? Would you volunteer at a homeless shelter? Travel the world? Play video games all day?

I’m curious to see some of your responses!

    I’d do exactly what I’m doing 🙂

This is a difficult question – I feel that I am on a path that suites me. However, there is another part of myself that I am forced to neglect due to time constraints and issues of practicality. So from one perspective I’d continue on this path that I’ve created for myself. Yet on the other I would be very tempted to use that money to travel. The idea of packing a bag and exploring a new country or two or three sounds very enticing. So I suppose if such an opportunity ever arose I would take a much needed vacation to reassess the direction of my life.

I know exactly what I would do. I would first start by paying off all of my credit cards and loans, then I would proceed to turn in my two weeks notice at both of my jobs, (just because I can’t be a total bitch). After that I would spend alot of time Traveling, writing and working on the hobbies that I love… I would take acting, singing, and dance lessons. I would learn the art of Tai Chai and also the art of Ikido. (two martial art forms that I have always wanted to try.) I would also take more fencing lessons and continue to work hard on my personal hobbies. I would keep myself very busy but instead of keeping myself working for someone else I would keep myself busy doing things that I love!
